DC Housing 101
What is affordable housing? What do we mean when we say there is an “affordable housing crisis” in DC? This conversation is an introduction to the topic of housing in Washington, DC and the theme of housing justice. It’s designed to be an entry point for those interested in getting involved in addressing the housing justice needs of their community.
Just Homes can also bring this workshop to your community and customize it to suit your needs. If you are interested in this hosting this presentation for your church or other community, contact us.
Housing, Race, and Justice
It is important to understand the ways in which the District has been transformed through policies and how those decisions shaped the way housing looks today. This multi-part seminar series examines the history of the DC area through the lens of biblical justice, focusing on the themes of housing and race. Through teaching, conversation, and reflection we explore the history of injustice in the DC area and the roles we are called to play in challenging the legacy and continuation of those injustices.
Advocacy 101 & Other Skills Workshops
Just Homes partners with several organizations to offer practical skills workshops on topics such as advocacy, financial stewardship, neighboring, and others. These opportunities for practical training also create space for conversations about how the faith community can work together to advance the cause of housing justice in the DC area.
