Advocacy 101 Workshop

Do you believe in the vision of a just city where everyone has a home? Do you want to learn how you can effectively advocate for policies and systems necessary to build that just city?

Join Just Homes for an Advocacy 101 workshop on Tuesday March 23rd from 7-8:30PM! We’ll learn about the DC budget process, the importance of the budget for promoting justice and equity in DC, and how to be an effective advocate both during the budget process and throughout the year. This workshop will be virtual.

The material will be presented by representatives from the Fair Budget Coalition and DC Fiscal Policy Institute — experts with direct experience in justice-focused advocacy in the District of Columbia.

As Christians who desire to think, love, and act more like Jesus, we are called to be actively involved in our communities, using our voices to push back against systems of injustice and promote an alternative vision of justice and equity. This workshop will provide the technical tools to help us live into this calling.

This workshop is the first of a series of workshops in the Housing Justice Discipleship Program, a program designed to build the capacity of Christians in the DC area to pursue and embody justice, specifically housing justice. You do not need to be part of the program to participate in the workshop. To learn more about the Housing Justice Discipleship Program, click here.
